How to measure dog collar

How to measure your dogs neck for a new collar

Dogs come in many different shapes and sizes, which can make choosing the right collar challenging. Knowing how to measure your dog’s neck for a new collar is an important step in making sure you are happy with your new purchase. We’ve developed our sizing guide below to help you work this out and have provided a few helpful tips so you can get the best outcome.

Firstly you will need to measure your dog’s neck. Use a soft tape measure as this will mould around their neck easier and help you get the correct measurement. Make sure your dog is relaxed and sitting. Measure around the bottom of their neck where you would like the collar to sit. Once you have this measurement, place two fingers underneath the tape measure to allow for comfort and for space to breathe. It is important the collar isn’t too tight otherwise this may affect your dog’s skin and cause irritation.

Keep in mind, if you dog is still growing, you should allow room for some growth. The ideal fit should be the middle holes of the collar so you can loosen or tighten it as needed.
